D. Paul Koch, Jr., Vice President - Legal

Paul oversees Synergy's legal affairs by undertaking the in-house performance of leasing, tenant, vendor, corporate/entity, licensing/permitting, and general business matters, by managing and performing due diligence and other acquisition and financing matters, and by collaborating with Synergy's outside counsel for transactional, tax, zoning, litigation, and other issues requiring the scale of law firm services.

A focus on real estate in a variety of settings has provided Paul with a diverse and unique approach to each issue, each transaction, and each asset. As a Sole Practitioner in Boston, he focused on residential and commercial transactions (acquisition, financing, disposition); as an Associate at Shechtman Halperin Savage LLP, he concentrated on the disposition of distressed assets and litigation; and as the Legislative Director of the Boston City Council, he researched and developed public policy including housing and zoning initiatives.

Paul has also worked at the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. Paul has volunteered for the Boston Bar Association's VITA Program and ReBuilding Together-Boston. He is a member of the Boston Bar Association, a licensed Real Estate Broker, and a Notary Public.
