Junior Property Accountant<\/h2>

Synergy<\/strong>, a leading Boston commercial real estate firm, seeks a full time Junior Property Accountant supporting Synergy Services Finance team. The Junior Property Accountant role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career, excited to gain experience, and develop their real estate industry knowledge. In this role you will work directly with the property accounting team, and VP of Finance to perform various accounting and financial functions for Synergy\u2019s portfolio of owned and managed properties. As a junior property accountant you will primarily be responsible for processing accounts receivable for the portfolio as a whole and accounting for your assigned portfolio of real estate related assets.<\/p>\n

Essential Duties & Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

What we\u2019re looking for you to do:<\/p>\n

  • Maintaining tenant ledgers, and rent rolls, processing rent checks<\/li>\n
  • Monitoring bank accounts for wire payments received<\/li>\n
  • Upkeep of tenant ledgers and rent rolls and Yardi\u2019s Commercial Cafe<\/li>\n
  • Assisting with monthly close for on our commercial real estate portfolio<\/li>\n
  • Monthly reporting, including preparing monthly supporting schedules<\/li>\n
  • Performing financial analytics and analysis<\/li>\n
  • Investor and Bank reporting, including quarterly reports, and annual financial statements<\/li>\n
  • Work closely with the property management department on a day to day basis<\/li>\n
  • Preparing and reviewing annual budgets<\/li>\n
  • Completing annual tenant CAM and Real Estate Tax reconciliations<\/li>\n
  • Interacting and assisting external auditors<\/li>\n
  • Performing other assigned duties and completing ad hoc projects, as required<\/li>\n
  • We provide on the job training through one on one task specific instruction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

    What we\u2019re looking for in you:<\/p>\n

    • Degree in Accounting (4 Year)<\/li>\n
    • Working knowledge of GAAP<\/li>\n
    • Working knowledge of Excel<\/li>\n
    • Ability to communicate effectively with superiors, peers and vendors, as well as clients and other related parties<\/li>\n
    • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, while meeting deadlines<\/li>\n
    • Quick study with the willingness to learn new systems and the eagerness to grow with the company<\/li>\n
    • High degree of personal integrity and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment<\/li>\n
    • A strong positive attitude, demonstrating the professionalism and flexibility needed to attain Company goals<\/li>\n
    • Must be capable of independent problem solving and teamwork<\/li>\n
    • 1-2 years commercial real estate experience, exposure to Yardi, a plus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
